In My Brother’s Shoes is an award-winning short film starring Danny McCarthy that follows the accidental pilgrimage of a Chicago man whose younger brother was killed in Iraq. The character Danny dons his brother’s ill-fitting combat boots and travels to Rome, Italy, where he processes his grief and better understands his own capacity for sacrifice through his random encounters with a diverse range of people.
The film was shot on location in Chicago and Rome. In My Brother’s Shoes was directed by Lucia Mauro and produced by Ed Pope and Joe Orlandino. In 2015 it won Best Short Film in the Vatican Film Festival.
